(con't from "Mission") >>The fact that the damage of this violence is not obvious to most, certainly complicates the issue further. The longer wounds are overlooked and untreated the more opportunity for the violence to continue and most likely get worse. Some people believe violence against the human spirit doesn't exist or are oblivious to what it really is. Even well-meaning friends, family, and professionals can be distracted by what they see on the outside. When those among us look to professionals to identify the source of our symptoms, we are being treated incorrectly: fulfilling lives and relationships become further from our grasps.
Sadly, there is violence against the human spirit taking place ALL the time. There is not a moment in our existence during which millions around the world are not experiencing this violence or suffering from the nasty wounds it inflicts on our spirits: our souls. This violence can comes from loved ones, bosses, housemates, and people who have power. |
In society, unhealed wounds beget more wounds for oneself or others: oppressed and hurt souls do not make good relationships. Violence against the human spirit is starvation of love. Without healing from this lack of love, we are severed from authentic connection with others, which we depend on to survive and to function as our best selves.
S.O.U.L. believes that we have the power, together, to overcome the darkness of violence against the human spirit --which can leave empty, dysfunctional and soulless shells of people in its wake. Healing can happen. Even those who have been victim to the worst kinds of abuse can be rescued and healed. However, in order for this possibility to occur, the violence and it's damages must be uncovered and put in the light. We believe this violence can be spotted at varying stages of severity and therefore be prevented from getting worse. We believe the |
wounds caused by violence against the human spirit can be healed.
When genuine healing happens we believe our greatest warriors in fighting for the human spirit, are born. These are people armed to fight for what is good and right and just in this world with a zest that only comes from experiencing deadness of the soul in oneself/others. Together we can experience healing that brings spirit back to our lives; which allows for true intimacy and love in our relationships, our communities, our nation, and the world. We believe relationship reformation is happening. Join us in fighting violence against the human spirit! Kelli Forsythe S.O.U.L. Owner, Founder, Creative Director |
